FEM simulation on forward extrusion of bi-metal rod

چکیده

Abstract This study proposes FEM simulation on forward extrusion of bi-metal rod comprised Aluminum (Core) and Copper (Sleeve). A Deform-2D commercial software with constant shear friction is used to explore the forming characteristics, such as effective stress, strain, velocity field, force, die ratio inner diameter outer at exit after deformation (the aspect ratio). Besides forces obtained by 2D can be compared upper bound method (UBM) experiment from Hwang [13]. It notes that results are in a good agreement among three methods. Therefore verified feasible UBM.
